The Challenge

Our Second Design Department handles inspections of structures such as bridges, culverts, and tunnels, and I mainly work on tunnel inspections. Recently, local governments have been promoting the use of new technologies. However, compared to bridge inspections, there are fewer new tools for tunnels, and efficiency in the field was a challenge. That’s when we discovered DAC-NOTE.

The Results

DAC-NOTE allows us to record directly onto CAD drawings using a tablet in the field. Even in tunnels with limited connectivity, we can operate DAC-NOTE without internet, ensuring work continuity and reliability. Previously, paper-based work in tunnels was difficult due to low visibility, but with DAC-NOTE, the tablet’s screen ensures clear visibility even in dark environments, making work smoother. The zoom function also allows us to add detailed notes that are hard to capture on paper, improving record accuracy.
